He is about 3 and a half feet tall with black and red fur, sharp quills on his head, red eyes, gold rings around his wrists and ankles, gloves, and unique shoes that allow him to hover over the surface of the ground. He has small but sharp claws on his hands and feet.

Canon Abilities: They're here! In general, Shadow cannot use a lot of these to any great extent without a Chaos Emerald. The only chaos-related abilities he has access to without emeralds are Chaos Spear (lightning bolt attack basically) and very limited short-distance teleportation. His speed, strength, toughness, and healing factor are not linked to the emeralds, though they can be boosted by them.
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: Shadow's appearance will be even more animalistic than before, with longer fur in some places and patches of scales in others. His claws and teeth will be lengthened and sharpened, and his alien blood will influence his animal forms.
Role Reasoning: In the immortal words of Arin Hanson, "He's dark and brooding and ambivalent toward good and evil." Shadow's entire schtick is that he is neither hero, nor villain -- at least not in his own mind. He simply is, and does as he chooses, following his own (sometimes confusing and inconsistent) moral code. He chooses no sides, only his own. He works with whomever can help him with his goals, and fights against those who stand in his way. Familiar also suits him, as he was created as a weapon or a tool -- not really his own person. He rejects his origins as a mere object to be used and directed, and seeks meaning in his life. However, despite this search for purpose and meaning, Shadow often falls back on one of his original purposes -- protecting his planet from harm. It seems that it really is difficult to break out of a role, after all.
