WEEK 1 SATURDAY - After the trial

[Shadow has recovered a nice, expensive-looking bottle of scotch whiskey from the liquor cabinet and escaped from the dining room. He doesn't want to go back to his own room, and he briefly considers heading down to the docks....

But instead, he finds himself in the library. He plops in an overstuffed chair and begins taking swigs directly from the bottle]

[ Peering down from the rafters, Shadow will catch a glimpse of violet (actually were those red for a second?) eyes once he's settled in. ]

What a surprise to see you here.

[chaoscontrol]

[He figured Natsuno would be here, too. It doesn't matter]

Is it. Is it a surprise.

[sotoshini]

I guess your nose can't sniff out sarcasm either, huh? [ It's not a particularly biting tone, despite how blunt it is.

Maybe hedgehogs don't have sarcasm in their culture, who knows. ]

[chaoscontrol]

[he sighs, rubbing his temples]

Sorry. I... am more on edge than usual.

[ He shrugs but ah right Shadow probably can't see from here. Hm well- rather than respond he jumps down landing neatly, a book in hand. ]

People usually are when they drink liquor like that.

[Shadow doesn't seem surprised by the man's agility -- he can get up to the rafters, after all]

Alcohol has little effect on me. I have to drink heavily to feel any effects.

[he doesn't know that removing his powers also removes his INCREDIBLE ALCOHOL TOLERANCE but he'll find out soon enough]

Then why are you drinking at all? [ There are a lot of reasons people drink, but as far as he knows they all involve wanting to feel the effects of the liquor somewhat. ]

[He doesn't honestly have a good reason for it]

.... Psychosomatic effect? I don't know, honestly. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Sounds like something an adult would say while spending their money on it anyway.

[chaoscontrol]

... I hurt my hand. I was hoping it would help with that a little.

[he isn't sure it is. He takes another gulp of whiskey]

[ ....does he want to know? Hm. He's already here, and if nothing else this conversation is a distraction. ]

[chaoscontrol]

... I tried to attack the witch. She disappeared before I could.

[he frowns]

And then I punched the wall.

[sotoshini]

Guess she probably wouldn't let me throw water on her either. [ This may or may not be a joke. But that intel is useful, ty shadow. ]

[chaoscontrol]

[that actually gets a small chuckle out of Shadow]

Like in the Wizard of Oz?

Yeah. Sometimes reality has a root in fantasy. [ But judging from the small smile on his lips, Natsuno finds it amusing too. ]

Well, perhaps we should set up a bucket on a string for the next trial, then. If nothing else, she might catch a cold.

...it's not like she doesn't encourage to attack her either. [ Blue truth, water, same thing right? ]

[chaoscontrol]

I wonder... if that isn't because she can't attack us first?

[ Hm. ]

I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of her rules.
